It is SUMMER here in Omaha! Which means it is hot and there are storms every other day. This afternoon was spent in the basement (thank goodness for Kindles).
We are already running around nonstop with busy schedules and when we can, enjoying some time at home playing outside. Jack and Eli love the pool and Sam is content collecting every single stick in the backyard.
The twins have summer camp 2 days a week. We started yesterday and it was Superhero week! The boys have never seen a single show about Superman/Batman, but still thing superheroes are the coolest thing since sliced bread. Eli managed to hold out on crying at the gym’s daycare for about 15 seconds, so things are looking up.
Next week Sam starts Feeding camp! Ahh! I am so, so excited for this:
Food Friendzy Camp
Food Friendzy is a feeding group for children who are picky eaters and problem feeders. New foods are introduced based on the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) feeding protocol. Each group is directed by two or more occupational therapists and focuses on:
- Eliminating food aversions, including gagging and vomiting
- Increasing the number of foods a child eats
- Establishing mealtime routines
- Increasing oral intake when transitioning from G-tubes
- Assisting with transitions between food stages (i.e.: moving from purees to solids)
He will go on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:45-2:00. My Mother’s Helper will stay with Eli while we go–Jack will love the 1-on-1 time!
Speaking of my Mother’s Helper… Yes, yes I did hire a helper for this summer. She is a wonderful teenager who lives just a block away from us. I am going to have her come two mornings a week and every Tues. and Thurs. during Sam’s camp. I love my children, love them. But playing with them nonstop gets a little tiring. It is going to be so nice to have some help so I can run inside and clean up breakfast without fearing that Eli will try and climb the roof (this is a legitimate fear–I am not embellishing).
Here are some pictures and video–the pool one cracks me up! Grandma Peggy just bought us a bigger pool–we definitely needed it! 🙂 Also, the sausage Sam is eating?! Umm… real kid-sized bites. Not itty bitty bites, but actual large bites. So excited for his progress.
