The Stibbe’s have been busy. Adam is finally done with his intern year!! Can I get an AMEN?!?!!! He started Radiology, officially, on July 2nd. So far, pretty great hours compared to what we’re used to, but he seems more exhausted than he did on surgery somehow! It’s all new to him, so he’s really learning something new every day. The best part? He had the 4th off, AND he gets every single weekend off this year! This makes for a happy wife. Happy wife=happy life, right honey? π
Here are some pics of our first {fun} July 4th (last year Sam was recovering from surgery #6)… We had a great morning at the local Field Club parade and then came home to have lunch and let the boys nap. Nap they did! When they woke up, it was time to cool off in the pool and watch Daddy grill.
Decided it was time for some clothes…
Worn out…
Watermelon lemonade!! Thank you Pinterest!
Last weekend Adam and the boys were in a wedding for our friends Zach and Angela. It was a beautiful wedding and we had a great time! It was so much fun to see old friends, and finally meet some of the people Adam (and Zach and Angela) work with. The boys were ring bearers–and adorable! My prediction came true– Jack refused to walk down the aisle, and Sam “walked” with Adam before he got distracted and had to be picked up. But they were both well-behaved, and extremely handsome. Jack and I excused ourselves after about 10 minute of the ceremony– he wasn’t naughty, just very talkative. A Catholic wedding has a lot of quiet moments, so I thought it best to head to the back rooms and just let him burn off some steam π Β All of the photos I tried to take of the boys together were a disaster– Adam’s friend Aru got some good ones on his camera, so I’ll make Adam get those for us π The wedding photographer was fantastic with the boys, and I know we’ll have a ton of good ones to choose from when those are available! I told Zach and Angela they better be okay being on our Christmas card this year, because the boys were smiling up a storm!
On Tuesday, my awesome Aunt Stef and 2 of her girls, Mary and Kate, drove up from Lincoln, NE to go to a local splash park and have lunch with us! Jack had absolutely no fear and started walking to the water as soon as Stef set him down. Meanwhile, Sam and I strolled around and he ended up loving the water! He even “walked” with me for a good 20 minutes, and did really well. Stef got some great pics on her phone:
In other news, we’re prepping for Sam’s surgery on the 11th and then heading home to Fargo on the 12th. We just got the call this morning that Sam has to be at the hospital by 5:30am because he’s the first case of the day. Someone shoot me now… Ugh. Adam is such a great husband/dad, and wanted to take the day off to be with Sam and help out with Jack. Prayers for Sam please! Even though this surgery should be super simple, it will still be hard to see the little man in the hospital again π¦
Oh, and I’m 27 weeks on Sunday! Can you believe how fast this is going!? I’ve been horrible about taking pictures, but I promise to post my 28-week pic next week. Still feeling good, but this heat/humidity is killer. Chasing around one toddler and carrying another while trying to balance the extra 12-pound bowling ball in my midsection in 165-degree heat = not fun.
