Go Bison!

We were HERD!!!

My hometown team, the North Dakota State University Bison football team, won their first FCS championship.

My love affair for NDSU has been engrained in me since I was a little girl. My grandparents had season tickets to all of the football and basketball games, and Krysta and I were lucky enough to go almost every week. I had Bison sweatsuits, wrote letters to the team (I wonder if my parents even mailed them… or just “mailed them.” haha!), and dreamt about playing for the women’s basketball team for the longest time (that dream died in 10th grade).

Grandpa Les, bless his soul, even has a Bison helmet and Bison basketball on his tombstone. You could say our family is obsessed.

What I find so funny though, is that neither my parents nor myself even attended NDSU. I graduated from MSUM. Krysta managed to make the family proud by graduating from NDSU though! 🙂  Good girl. To this day I don’t remember why I decided to go to MSUM instead… it is a fantastic college and I got a great education, but let’s just say their football team isn’t exactly at the same caliber.

Our friends Matt, Jenna and Tyler came to visit this weekend and we had such a great time! Of course I didn’t take ANY pictures, but the memories are more important. Sam and Jack had a ton of fun entertaining them, and were such troopers being drug around all day to various bars (parents of the year!). Jack didn’t sleep a single minute all day, and didn’t fall asleep until 9:30pm. He was only crabby for the 10 minutes before we got home, so I would say the day was a success!

We LOVE the Bison! What a great time to be fans, we are so proud. I’m picturing that Grandpa Bueling hung green and gold Bison flags all over the streeets of Heaven, he’s smiling his big smile right now, and tapping everyone on the shoulder asking if they “herd” the news.

He was their #1 fan, I’m sure Grandpa had the best seat in the house at game time.
