After the last few nights, I think Adam and I have realized just how fantastic it would be to have our parents just 15-20 minutes away. Just to catch a nap, go out to dinner, have an early night to bed… Over the last week, here is what we’ve dealt with:
- Jack getting 7 shots
- Sam having surgery
- Jack getting a fever/feeling crummy
- Neither boy sleeping through the night (for the first time EVER)
- Sam screaming throughout the night, waking up Jack
- Sam getting 7 shots
- Sam getting a fever
And last night… Sam had a semi-blue spell. First one in at least SIX months.
Adam looks like a zombie. At least the boys get to nap, and sometimes so do I.
This morning, I actually had to WAKE BOTH BOYS UP at 8:00. Usually it’s a definite they’re up by 7:15.
Suffice it to say, today is a chill day. We don’t let our kids watch TV… Well, too bad– today, we are watching movies, curling up in bed, and just trying to get the boys feeling better.
And after last night, Sam having an episode… it just sucked. Pure and simple. His head is fine, so we’re thankful for that. We think it was just the fact that he hasn’t thrown up at night in so long, he just got scared and forgot to breathe for a while.
I am counting down the days until next Tuesday (Uncle Paul arrives) and Wednesday (Fred and Peggy arrive). Sorry guys, but I’m going to take advantage of you 🙂
Trish you can always ask me to watch the boys! I have lots of helpers and a playmate for them! Seriously!!!! I know what it’s like to not catch a break!
Hope everyone gets some rest today!
Those days stink! I think you should take full advantage of that family time!
Are you home around Christmas/New Years? We just booked our flights home. We’ll be in NoDak, splitting time between GF and Fargo the 26th through the 6th.
I wish we lived in the same town, now that we are both staying home. OK, I should have just sent you an email. Oh well! Good luck with your relaxing day!
Sending you guys my love and I hope Mr. Sam feels better soon and that Adam can get some sleep.
Watch all the TV you want (and need) today, don’t feel guilty about it. Do whatever it takes.
Love you guys.
