I’m officially a working girl again! Monday was my first day back after being with the boys for 4 months. Surprisingly, I didn’t cry Monday morning, but I did get quite choked up. My life for the past 4 months has revolved around these boys and now I had to leave them.
Returning to work wasn’t too terrible. Although my Type A personality was annoyed all day that I could barely remember how to label one of my client’s folders. Last name, first name… Yep, that was all I needed to do!
I only called Fred and Peggy four times. And texted them twice. Pretty proud of myself π
My work has been great- they are so accommodating with my crazy schedule filled with appointments for the boys.
Sam and Jack are doing so well. Sam is pretty much amazing, minus the fact that he isn’t doing too well on his bottles lately. Needless to say, this has been extremely stressful for us. Our pediatrician isn’t worried at all and just told us it’s going to take time… We can’t compare him to Jack – easier said than done, Doc! He’s had neurosurgery and neurology follow-ups, oh and a general surgery follow-up. All have gone well! No one is overly concerned about the feeding issue- they keep reminding us he’s a preemie! Who went through a lot.
And of course Jack is amazing as well. Loud, but amazing. π Last night Adam got 3 hours of sleep and I got 4. Only reason I got 4 is because I couldn’t take it anymore and slept on the couch! He’s a great baby, always happy and never cries…as long as he’s being held, has a pacifier in his mouth, or is on his tummy. Bedtime comes… and he gets mad. We’re talking screaming bloody murder mad. I’m afraid the neighbor is going to call the cops on us! He just has such a strong personality. And my mom likes to remind me I was just like him as a baby, so what goes around comes around π
Grandma and Grandpa have been helping us out so much! They’ve been great. Our lives are not easy, and they have been so helpful. I can’t tell you how nice it is to come home to a clean house and have their bottles washed…and just get to spend time playing with the boys. Jack is absolutely smitten with Peggy- so cute! Cooing and smiling at her. And Mr. Sam is smitten with me!
Having the boys smile is so much fun. Jack has been cooing and smiling for over two weeks now and Sam just started cooing and smiling about five days ago. Last night, after our photo shoot, Sam couldn’t stop smiling and I got tears in my eyes! We jokingly called the twins “freak babies” in the NICU because they met all of their milestones for 1 month at something like -3 weeks adjusted. That’s a negative people π
The boys are 4 months old! 6 weeks adjusted. And, drumroll please…. Jack is 9lb, 9oz and Sam is 8lb, 6oz! HUGE!
Here are some recent pics!

I am admitting something embarrassing right now…. our wireless mouse just died so I had to replace the batteries. Or so I thought. I replaced them and the mouse still didn’t work! Adam and I tried everything on the computer to get the mouse working again. And then Adam looked at the batteries… I had put them in the wrong way. Someone’s a little tired….
Click twice to vote for us… if you think weβre worth it π
Glad to hear everyone seems to be adjusting after 3 days of being back at work!!! I think you did very well to have called home only 4 times on Monday! I’m sure Grandpa and Grandma Stibbe are enjoying their special “two on two” time with Jack and Sam!! I can’t believe how big they’re getting and am so excited to finally get my turn at holding them soon! Love all the pictures–aren’t those blowouts fun??!!! Have a great rest of the week–Good luck to you Adam next Thursday–we’ll be thinking of you. Love & Hugs……Carol
Glad to hear that things are going well this week after you returned to work. I’m sure Grandma and Grandpa S. love spending their days with Jack and Sam and I bet Grandma Laurie and Grandpa Brad can’t wait for their turn to babysit. The pictures of the boys are so cute. Very anxious to meet them and hold them! Am excited to hear Adam’s news next week. Take Care.
Love to all – Nancy
