Our house is slowly getting accustomed to having a newborn around. The boys are doing great… as expected, Sam is mostly in his own world and Mr. Independent, but really loves his little bro. Jack is slightly more affected, and having a hard time without Momma. Acting out a little, and testing all of us.
My mom is staying with us this week and has been doing such a great job. Adam and Mom took the boys to the zoo on Monday and even had Sam walking there! (speaking of Sam walking… AMAZING. He is picking himself up 100% of the time now! In fact, he probably only crawls 5% of the time now. PROUD over here) Tuesday we went to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and had an awesome time. Ate a ton of food, played in the corn pit (see video), and walked around a bunch. Mr. Eli slept the ENTIRE time (which drove Momma nuts because my first attempt at public breastfeeding failed. And not because it was embarrassing. It was just because the stinker wouldn’t wake up!) We came home and Eli had newborn photos with the awesome Mackenzie and Emily… pictures to come soon! The twins were in bed an hour early and just exhausted.
Adam had to go back to work yesterday– major bummer. He looked exhausted! We have really missed him, but Shelly came over and has been a big help (I slept while she snuggled Eli and my mom ran to the grocery store). Yesterday morning we even made it to MMI for feeding clinic! We’re big troopers. Because of my c-section, I can’t lift the kiddos, so my mom had to load all 3 into the van. Big workout for anyone!
Eli is doing great. He’s even given me a few 3-hour sleep sessions at night! And get this–no crying. He makes little purring sounds, I swear. Cutest thing ever. He is really battling some gas issues and I think some reflux. He gets really uncomfortable after most feeds, so we’ve tried a few different options. I know in time it will get all sorted out!
I’m feeling good, but not being able to lift S & J has me really sad. I miss my snuggle time and even being able to read them books. Crawling all over Momma is not a good idea.
Here are a TON of videos we’ve taken of the twins – they don’t sit still long enough these days for many pictures! (FYI–it’s nice to click on “watch on youtube” in the lower right-hand corner because it’s better quality) And of course a few pics of our newest guy 🙂
Looks like lots of fun in the Stibbe household! Thanks for sharing all the videos and pictures. Loved them all. Eli is precious and it looks like Jack and Sam will be very good big brothers. I bet Grandma Laurie is having a great time this week. Glad to hear that all is going well. Sending hugs for the whole family!
Love…..Nancy
