Well, Adam just got back from taking Jack to his Synagis shot appointment- this is a shot both boys get once a month for RSV. Nasty virus that can be fatal for preemies. These shots are $3,000 a piece. Yep, that’s not a typo! $3,000. Thank you insurance!
Anyway, here’s the best part about the story- Jack got weighed and was 8lb, 4oz!!! And… he got flagged in the system for gaining too much weight!!! Our little fatty! 🙂
Here’s a then and now photo to bring everyone back. He was just 2lb, 6oz when he was born.
And…
twin tip of the day:
More of a NICU tip…
If your maternity leave or short term disability policy allows you to take your time off once your child(ren) are home, do it. Return to work early. Once your babies are home, you will want to spend as much time as possible at HOME! It may be heartbreaking not spending your days at the NICU, but trust me, you will be happier in the end. Unfortunately, my company did not allow this and I’m now taking a pay cut. Being at home with the boys is well worth it, but look into this if you have NICU babysitters!
Let’s hear it for 8lbs. 4oz!! Way to go Jack!! You show Sam how it’s done! You can’t imagine how much I wish I were able to come this weekend with Grandpa Brad, Sammy and Nancy. I’ll definitely be thinking of all of you and waiting for pictures!! Have a great time–Love to everyone—Carol
