Happiness

March 17th, 2011 is kind of a blur. In a good way! We started the morning out bright and early with some pictures with the boys and then headed to our friend Murphy’s condo for a little pre-game festivities. Then it was off to Billy Blues Alumni Grill for some more cocktails. Finally…we made our way upstairs to begin the ceremony.

Adam’s name was the first called out of our group of friends. And yes, I did almost barf. When Adam read “Radiology @ Creighton,” we were so excited! Like I had said in an earlier post, Adam’s first choice was Ortho at KU in Kansas City, but then it was Radiology in Omaha. It was such a relief, and as the anxiety/nerves of the day wore off, Adam and I just got more and more happy. We are thrilled to be staying in Omaha – close to our family and friends, our boys’ wonderful doctors, and best of all – Adam gets to be a Dad, not just a Doctor. Radiologists have a fantastic lifestyle, and I am so happy Adam will be able to be around to watch our boys grow up.

We contacted a realtor over the weekend to begin our house search! I can’t believe what adults we have become. Getting married, stable jobs, having TwInS, buying a house… what?! It really sank in when on Thursday night, about 11:00, we looked at each other and said, “Let’s go home.” While we both enjoy having a good time and being out with our friends, our hearts were at home with the boys. And you know what, I LOVE it. I love the life we have created.

I love my husband more than anything in the world and am so proud of him. If you know me, you know I am the least-sappy person ever. So saying that for the whole world to see is crazy. 🙂  He is my better half, and the most amazing father.

We wound up the weekend with some visits from friends and saying ‘See you later’ to Grandma and Grandpa Stibbe and Uncle Paul. (No ‘good-byes’ allowed!)

Guess which one of us just got back from a vacation in Thailand? It's tough...
Adam and Murphy. Again... Guess which one of them just got back from a vacation in Thailand?

All ready for my bath!
And about 5 minutes later, the NG was out... don't let that sweet face fool you 🙂

I’ve been neglecting my ‘twin tip of the day’! Sorry about that.

twin tip of the day

As much as I love giving the boys baths… it is absolutely impossible to give them a bath every day. Or every other day. Okay, let’s be honest. It’s more like twice a week if we’re lucky.

In the NICU, we only gave them baths every 3-4 days. It’s not necessary to bathe them more than that, I promise. Unless of course there’s a major explosion or a little barf episode.

With twins, you have your hands full enough. Don’t stress out if you aren’t able to get them clean every day!

Trisha, I am so excited for you guys! It’s so much fun to see all the joy you are getting out of your family. Isn’t so funny how much different life feels after kids? I totally know that feeling you’re talking about where you just feel like your heart is at home.
Congrats to both of you guys! You have such a beautiful little family and it’s so great that you are living in the moment and enjoying it all.
