Both boys are fed and sleeping, Mya is sleeping, Adam’s at the gym… what’s that I hear? Nothing? Yep! 🙂 I’ve never been one to enjoy silence until I became a mother, haha. Not that I don’t love their little squeaks and noises, heck, I even enjoy them crying (kind of)… But sometimes a little alone time does a body good.

Sam is still requiring the NG tube for some feedings, which is okay. He had his first pediatrician appointment yesterday and since coming home has gained 10oz! He is now 7lb, 2oz. Little man is getting big! The doctor was pretty impressed with him. But constantly being told how strong and amazing your child is considering everything he went through is still tough to take. Dr. Moore met Sam and then started talking to us- “Wow, your little guy has been through pretty much everything, huh? I was reading his report, and I just kept reading, reading, reading. Then I started typing, typing, typing. He pretty much can’t go through anything else in a lifetime, huh?!” Other than that, Dr. Moore told us the fact that he regressed a little with bottle feeding was entirely normal. I expressed my frustration that he was doing absolutely amazing the first few days, and now he’s not. In the words of the M.D., kids are strange! 🙂

Jack continues to be huge. He is now 8lb, 4oz. Eats like a machine. His one and only “need” is his nuk. If it falls out of his mouth and we’re not there to put it back in in 10 seconds, we hear about it. On Thursday, we decided that Jack needs to learn to console himself, so we let him cry for 5 minutes (yep, we set a timer). He cried the entire 5 minutes. About an hour later, we set the timer for 7 minutes, cried the entire time. Thursday night he started to cry because it was time to eat, and his poor voice was hoarse!!! Ask Mom and Dad how great they felt… He now gets his nuk pretty much whenever he wants it 😮

My grandma Sammy and Aunt Nancy were supposed to be coming to Omaha to visit today with my dad, but because of the weather up in North Dakota, they had to cancel. 😦 I know they feel awful, and we are sad not being able to see them! Hopefully very soon we can reschedule. Even though it was just 70degrees a few days ago, we all have to remember it’s still February in the Midwest!

I just realized that I never posted pictures of when Adam’s grandpa Marvin came down to visit the boys!! He is completely enamored with them. Here’s a great 4-generation picture:

Swaddlers! Absolutely, 110%, must-have. My favorite are the Halo SleepSack Swaddlers. Once the boys get older, they also make a regular SleepSack. Babies don’t get tangled in blankets (reduce SIDS risk), they’re a breeze to put on, and baby sleeps amazingly well. All you have to do to put them on is zip baby up (top to bottom), and velcro the sides. Our boys LOVE their SleepSacks.

We have also tried the SwaddleMe collection and aren’t the biggest fans of these. Neither are our boys. They’re easier to get tangled in if you have a feisty sleeper (our Jack). We actually woke up one morning to a SwaddleMe over Jack’s face. Now he’s not allowed in those! I know several parents that use the SwaddleMe’s and are very happy with those, and by no means am I an expert. These are just my opinions!
